My thoughts: I’ve been following Claire Cook’s novels since I first read Seven Year Switch in July 2010. I’ve purchased several of her novels since then, but Time Flies is the first one I’ve actually gotten to read.
In TIME FLIES, Melanie, a recent divorcee who is figuring out who she is and how to live life on her own terms is coerced into attending her High School reunion by her friends. This storyline was of particular interest to me with my own reunion approaching this summer.
Some of the antics that ensued felt pretty typical for a woman in this situation, but that didn’t make them any less humorous. I loved Melanie’s spunk and sass and was so glad that she ended up where she did.
TIME FLIES is the perfect summertime escape that will leave you feeling refreshed about life.
One of the major components in TIME FLIES is music. While Claire Cook was promoting Time Flies she asked her readers on Facebook and Twitter to share those songs that remind them of high school. If I had to name a couple they would be After the Rain by Nelson and Friends in Low Place by Garth Brooks. Every time I hear either of these songs I am instantly transported back in time. Do you have a song or two that reminds you of way back when? Kudos if you can guess which reunion my class just had based on those songs.
