My thoughts: Ginny receives $1000 and 13 little blue envelopes after the death of her favorite aunt. Her instructions were to pack only the essentials that she could carry in her backpack and to follow the instructions in the envelopes. She then sets out on the adventure of a lifetime.

I had not previously read any of Maureen Johnson’s work so I didn’t really know what to expect. I picked this one up when it was offered as a Kindle freebie. I tore through 13 Little Blue Envelopes. Ginny was young and naive as she should have been given her age (and the target audience of the book). I felt her emotions right along with her as she works her way through the adventure that her aunt has laid out for her.

This was a fun read and I will certainly be seeking out more of Maureen Johnson’s work.
