We picked up Forget Me Not Friendship Blossoms because of the cover. It is beautiful shades of pink and purple and features two of the monkey’s favorite animals, the giraffe and the elephant.

It is a tremendously sweet story that teaches about the importance of patience. The little elephant is feeling ostracized by all of the other animals and his mother keeps telling him to wait, that they will eventually see how wonderful he is. He eventually meets the little giraffe and while waiting for the cherry blossoms they develop a friendship.

Such a great reminder for children and adults alike to be patient, everyone is different and friendships take time. It’s also a reminder to reach out to new people as you never know if they are looking for a friend just like you.

This is a great story that is beautifully illustrated. I’m so glad we picked it up on a random trip to the bookstore.

You might find it amusing to know that my four year old has almost as much of a book habit as I do. He loves getting new books and will read them obsessively once a new one enters our home. I’m so glad that we get to review these books together.
